The Fitness World and the Lies they want you to Believe

We have all seen it time and time again, yet some of us keep falling for this absolute non sense.  Almost everyday in every magazine, on every TV set, even at the good for nothing commercial gyms, there is some type of NEW, LATEST AND GREATEST pill, machine, shoes, monitors, etc. that will make you lose weight or give you six pack abs with no work.  When will we realize that this is nothing but a bunch of B.S.?  I’ve seen everything from bracelets that supposedly make you lose weight to people doing the river dance to get abs.  Lies, lies, lies.  For the past 10 years, I have been using the same analogies and examples as I do today.  The point here is that for the past 10 years we have been doing the same disciplines, continued to see tremendous results, and the variety of exercises have never been an issue.  So why is it we always see ads every other day for next miracle that is going to help us?  I will tell you. It’s because there are people out there that really don’t care if you see results or not.  If you buy their product then they are happy because they are probably making a lot of money off of you.  If any individual or organization wants to see your credit card or money before they actually show you or let you use the product, then it’s probably a scam to start with.  You would be wise to guard your wallet anytime you are around them.  What about this one, “We guarantee results” What a bunch of insecurity.  You’re telling me that you are so unsure of what you have to offer you have to put a guarantee on it.  We are dealing with health and fitness here; we are not buying a car or anything else that might mechanically breakdown.  When is the last time you heard a doctor tell a patient with cancer they will live if they take all the right medicines?  They don’t because there are no guarantees!  At CrossFit The Woodlands we take the same approach.  I can’t tell you if you are going to see results or not. Results are not guaranteed, they are earned.  You might be one of these people that love to try out a new thing for a month, then when you don’t see the results you want because you are to lazy to actually do what it takes, you bash whatever it is you were trying.  Save us all the agony of your bull and stay at the commercial gym where you belong.  I don’t want to hear about how you could bench 90,547lbs when you were in high school and now you look like Fat Albert.  Then is then, and now is now, do you have the discipline to get back into shape?  I’m sure I am not the only one that has seen these types of people.  Getting into shape is a long journey that takes time, patience, and proper programming.  If we could all be in great shape so quickly then why is

America the fattest nation on earth?  Why is it they have declared obesity an epidemic in our children?  Do kids have to start dying of obesity before we start to care?  We should all go out and buy these gimmicks we see on TV and then we would all be in better shape right?  I am part of the fitness world but I won’t lie to you.  If you want to see results then you must work hard.  That means in and out of the gym.  Your eating habits, sleeping habits, alcohol consumption, social activities, exercise selection, etc.  You must start from the bottom and work your way up.  Please don’t be one of those people that start a program and does not finish it.  Anything you do is going to be hard at first but it will get more and more fun as you go and start to see changes.  Notice I did not say it was going to get easier.  You should be constantly challenging yourself.  If your training is getting to be a walk in the park, then you are not pushing yourself and you will see you results diminish.  It will take time and dedication.  You will get frustrated when you find yourself in a rut.  There will be times when you ask yourself if all this is really worth it? Many challenges and obstacles will lie ahead of you but it will be all worth it when you see what types of results you are trying to achieve.  No one will do your reps for you.  No one will run for you.  Get dedicated and do it quickly.  Time waits for no one, and no, you are not excluded.  CrossFit The Woodlands is here to help you. We are dedicated to seeing people succeed.  Our program is the best around.  Our client’s results do not lie, our client’s performance numbers do not lie, nothing in our program is hidden and everything is upfront.  You can go to the website and receive everything for 100% free.  We are not hear to waste your time so when you are ready to see results and be part of a program that strong and disciplined, stop by the facility and try out a free session.  As for miracle cures and weight loss pills that guarantee out of this world results, good luck with those if you choose to try them. I will stick by my guns and continue to do the program that has produced great results for me and my clients for the past 10 years.

How many times have you seen this.  Someone goes and gets a certification and all of a sudden they are an expert. HA!!! Just because you look good does not mean you know what you are talking about.  There are alot of people out there with degrees/certifications who are completely clueless.
