I will be posting updated pictures as we start to grow. It’s all under constuction right now but it’s coming together very quickly.

This is just a reminder that tomorrow “Monday” and Tuesday we will be closed since we are moving into our new location. Today we got everything out of our old location and moved it over to our new facility. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped us with the move. I couldn’t have done it without everyones help who is part of CrossFit The Woodlands. I look forward to getting into our new facility and providing the best training there is around. The new address is
8815 Fawn Trail
Conroe, TX 77385

Directions:
Go east on 242
Go over the bridge
Take the first left you can make after you come down the bridge “the road is called DONWICK”
Take the next left “the road is called FAWN TRAIL”
We will be the second building on the right

Tomorrow you can come by and check out the new place. If you want to hit a workout you are more than welcome. We will need some hands to help clean up. So if you are willing to get your hands dirty, show up, grab a broom, and be part of the beggining of something extremely special.

Yes, it was hot as hell today. I think your training environment is a big part of weather you will see results or not. Today was one of the hottest days ever. We still had people running outside, pushing themselves, and finishing the workouts. It takes a special type of person to do that. Somone that really wants to put forth the effort to make a change. Just imagine if you were surrounded with people like this on a daily basis. What would that do for you?

Post some subjects you would like to see addressed. They can either be addressed on the site or in the gym. Is there anything we are missing out on? Maybe there is something that is not a focus point but you think should be. There are not rights and wrongs here. I like to put questions like this out there because I value what you as the member think. Post your thoughts to the comments section.

The face of determination. When all the odds are against you, can you overcome and succeed? It can be something small like making the right decision at lunch to not eat fast food. On the other hand it can be a life changing decision. The decision that can add years onto your life. Everyone knows that working out can have tremendous benefits. So why is it if something is so good for you, so few do it? As a fitness professional I have some opinions on this. First of all, there are so many choices out there and everyone claims to have the program that is going to change your life in 24 hours. Seldom do these places actually prove good on their claims. Second of all, it’s not just the industry’s fault, people today are so damn lazy. Why would you take the elevator to the second story? Why would you wait 20min. to park in the front when you could have parked in the back and walked to the store in three minutes. This one is my favorite, “it’s too hot” Last I checked we are all living in Texas. Yes, it’s hot, get your lazy ass up and go run or workout. Lastly, there are a shortage of facilities and professionals that are not willing to provide a service that exceeds one’s expectations. People are intelligent, they know when the product they are testing is BS. So to wrap it up, I think it’s on everyone. A person first has to find a program, try it, and then make a decision if it’s right for them. The fitness facility must provide knowledeable fitness professionals and a reputation for producing constant results. If we can merge these two, there would be a surplus of fitter and healthier people in our community.

When I saw this I was just waiting for Erik to mutate or turn into the incredible hulk. You can tell alot about someone’s character by the way they are willing to push themselves to reach their goals. Only about a week away till we start to move things into our new facility. I wanted to see what everyone thought about a RUN CLUB. This would be something that is done in the morning to get people up and going. I’m talking about 5a.m. We would run different routes and different distances for all fitness levels. The best part is you wouldn’t even need to be a member or CrossFit The Woodlands. What I had in mind would be you could jump start your morning with a run, then later come back for the workout. Please, no questions about overtraining. When we start talking about you going to the Olympics we will start addressing overtraining. Until then, work your ass off. But seriously, let me know what you think about this. I’m willing to do it if we get a good group of people. Remember, it would be different distances for all fitness levels. All it would take is a commitment from you. What do I have to do. We dropped the rates, opened the gym up on Sat. for open gym, now we might offer a free run club. If you are not getting results, you might want to take a long hard look in the mirror. All the resources are here, put them to use.

What is better than seeing everyone having fun lifting? There are two ways of looking at it. You can either be dying to live, or living to die. Invest the time and effort in yourself to make the changes that will make you feel better. If that means thinking outside of the box, so be it. The only way you are going to get better physically or emotionally is if you make up your mind that you want to excel. Surround yourself with people that are going to help you. Set a goal. If what you are doing is not helping towards your goal, don’t do it. I know people that want to reach a goal but then sabotage their bodies. Eating like shit and pretending it’s cool is not cool. Sorry, someone has lied to you my friend. Eating like that will make you more depressed and out of shape. People always ask me when they will start losing the fat around their belly. My answer now is ask me after you have been doing this for at least 18 months. It would be like me asking someone after two months of training to be a surgeon when I could perform open heart surgery. I’m sure I would get a crazy look followed by the CrossFit thumbs up. I don’t want to give people the wrong impression about not seeing results. You will see results if YOU make the changes to allow yourself to see results. All I’m saying is start setting short term achievable goals. You’re lifting 300lbs and you want to get to 350lbs, well you got to get to 305lbs first right? See, set realistic goals and make sure you get to them. There are always going to be times when you feel like you are training and nothing is happening. Just remember you must taste what’s bitter before anything can be sweet.

Deadlift x 10

Burpee x 20
